JEDDAH: The newly elected student council members of Mahd Al Uloom International School in Jeddah (MISJ) were entrusted their portfolios at an investiture ceremony held recently. The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. Muhammad Ramees, program convener, welcomed the gathering. School Director Abdurrabb and Manager Yahya Khaleel Noorani honored the head boy, general captain, student editor and all other newly appointed council members with sashes and badges. Abdurrabb congratulated the newly elected school cabinet members for their preparedness to take responsibilities and advised them to be role models for the student community. This was followed by the handing over of the school flag to the head boy and the house flags to the newly appointed incumbents of various houses. Dr. Firoz Mulla, principal of the school, led the oath-taking ceremony whereby all cabinet members were administered the oath of office. They promised to discharge their duties honestly, sincerely and to the best of their ability. Head Boy Abdul Azeez shared his views on the occasion and promised a definite change for a better tomorrow. He urged the students to adhere to the school decorum and remain disciplined in life. Mansoor Ali, Marakkar, Mansoor C.K. wished well for the future leaders of the school. Hussain, in charge of the school council election, proposed a vote of thanks. The function ended with the national anthems of Saudi Arabia and India.
